California museum-track artist, Patsy Krebs, happened to mention in passing that she had some paintings on paper in her personal archive. Being enormous supporters of Patsy’s beautiful and edgy work, our interest was definitely peaked. So, without letting the moment pass, we asked her if she would consider sending us some of these paintings.
Well, the box arrived last week, and we must admit we were stunned by the contents: 12 colorful, pristine paintings on very heavy Arches paper. The imagery of interconnected geometric shapes is skillfully contrasted by the rich almost velvety colors of the paint. These paintings are pretty special, to be sure! Not to mention that Patsy is letting us price each one at $1200.00!
Those of you who have seen or collected Patsy’s work will get what an amazing and rare opportunity this is to own a painting by an artist of Krebs’ caliber. Her work is included in the collections of San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, Berkeley Art Museum and Santa Barbara Museum of Art and several other museums. Can you tell how excited we are to have these paintings? We can’t stop looking at them. Anyway, we’re putting simple frames around a few and they’ll be exhibited at the gallery soon. The others will be carefully archived in a flat file. We love putting on those white gallery gloves and leafing through these compelling paintings. So, please stop by and have a look.
